From Bamboo Stalls to Creative Halls – Where Great Minds and Cocktails Collide
The story began four years ago, when Bar Mischa Cheap was just a street-side bamboo shack in Soi Ari, it has been a place where people love to talk about movies, music, and art. These conversations have turned many into friends up to this day.
As time went on, it wasn’t just a place for drinking. Sometimes students would bring their assignments for friends to comment on, and people with jobs would share their projects. When we moved to a much bigger place on Khao San Road, that atmosphere was still there, even if not as often as when we were just a street-side stall, probably due to the size and bustle of the place. We’re thankful to everyone who shares their creative ideas with us. Running a bar has its perks; it allows us to gain knowledge and inspiration from others frequently. And we want to share this feeling with you.
This September, we’re opening a new bar on Song Wat Road, changing the name from Mischa Cheap to The National Bar. There are national museum, library, stadium, etc, so why not a national bar?
Bars have long been hubs for great ideas and masterpieces born from creative exchanges. Inspired by historic Song Wat Road, we’re hosting weekend afternoon/evening sessions for designers and artists to share and critique each other's work. This connects all genres and generations, allowing young people to get advice from veterans and veterans to gain fresh perspectives. Whether it's a school project or client presentation, sharing and commenting on each other's work will be fun. Additionally, we'll offer workshops on painting, design, photography, and writing, with experts sharing their knowledge.
And we would like to call this activity, held at The National Bar on Song Wat Road "Mischa Cheap Education Center."
